Open shelving looks effortless when it’s done well, and cluttered when it isn’t. The difference usually comes down to restraint: fewer, better objects, grouped with intention.
Start by pulling everything off the shelf and choosing a color story — two or three tones is plenty. Mix heights, leave breathing room, and let one or two pieces do the visual work.
